ABOUT THE YOUTH ATHLETE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
We know the demands of sport on young athletes. We know the scenario of youth athletes playing multiple sports across a variety of levels, juggling training sessions with school work. We know the dream as a young athlete to "make it" - playing on the biggest stage with our superstar heroes. We know, because we ourselves have been there.
Nowadays, we know the value of proper training. We know how essential all the components of training are to make a well-rounded athlete - speed, agility, strength, fitness, jumping, running and mobility/flexibility. And above all, we know how essential is it to try to make the athlete as "bulletproof" as possible - that is, reduce their risk of injury on-field, as well as teach them the correct movement patterns and training loads at an early age. This is our main point of difference that the parents' of our young athletes love - we teach their child not only to move and train in a better way, but also in a smarter way. It's not always about doing more and more, it's about balancing all the components of training and performance in a way that improves the athlete, not fatigues them and makes them susceptible to injury. Our team of exercise professionals and sports scientists have created a program that gives each child the edge - a competitive advantage - which will also help to set the child up well into the future. |

HOW DOES IT WORK?
The program is progressive and highly individualised for each child. The program works in a 4-step approach:
WHO IS IT FOR?
The Youth Athlete Development Program is suited to athletes of any age, although we find the most amount of benefit is seen in athletes 12 years and above. The maximum age is 18.
Our team of sports scientists have developed a program that is individualised, and therefore it is suitable for athlete across all sports. We provide the support and guidance beyond what local clubs and coaches can provide, with our only focus on improving the way our athletes move, perform and feel.
The primary outcomes of your child participating in the Youth Athlete Development Program are;
- Enhanced performance through individualised exercise programs
- Thorough movement assessment prior to beginning, conducted by one of our sports scientists
- Consistent data monitoring of each athlete through exclusive technology such as VALD Force Decks
- Very small group training setting (no more than 4 athletes per coach) results in a highly personal coaching session
- Sports nutrition guidance through an on-site sports nutritionist
- Access to recovery tools such as compression garments and infrared sauna

WHAT DO THE SESSIONS LOOK LIKE?
All of Evexia Performance's sessions run on a 60 minute timeframe. Each session is made up of several components that are essential for building success in the gym;
1. Movement Preparation. This is where we start each session, and this includes specific dynamic stretches, activation drills and warm up techniques.
|
2. Movement Literacy. This component of the training session focuses on teaching each athlete the correct muscles to activate and build body awareness when moving.
|
3. Strength Training. Now each athlete is thoroughly warmed up and has learnt the correct activation process, we begin our strength training component of the session.
|
4. Power, Plyometrics, and Force Development. This is an essential component of sport. We teach each athlete progressive techniques, from landing mechanics to explosive strength.
|
Throughout the session, each individual athlete performs exercises within a program that is specifically designed for them. Each athlete is carefully monitored by one of our coaches to ensure correct technique and intensity. Once an exercise is completed, the athlete and the coach record the data of the session (e.g. weight used, reps completed etc) using specialised software, which is then used to monitor progress and results in seamless integration at each session.
HOW DOES THE PROGRAM HELP BUILD YOUNG ATHLETES?
- Our thorough assessment process which we complete on every individual athlete at the beginning of their training enables our team to identify the areas that we need to focus on to enhance their athletic capabilities.
- Our program focuses on the core components that young athletes need for their long-term development; mobility/flexibility, strength, speed, agility and recovery. This multi-focus approach means we are able to improve all existing areas of strength and weakness within the athlete.
- All sessions are catered for individual athletes and our program is scheduled around your child's existing sporting/school schedule. Our sports scientists and exercise professionals will arrange a training plan specific to your child's unique situation (i.e. off-season vs in-season).
- Our sessions are progressive in nature, meaning each week the athletes' will be challenged slightly more than the week before. This progressive overload technique ensures all movements are completed safely and within each athletes' capabilities.
- Every session is carefully supervised by our highly trained team of coaches. Due to the very small group nature of the sessions (i.e. 4 per gym class), you can be sure your child is in safe hands.
- We are not an ordinary "gym" - meaning there are no distractions to the sessions. This also ensures your child is in a safe environment. Furthermore, all staff hold a Working With Children Check, First Aid and CPR.
- Re-testing our athletes at the end of each 12-week block of training ensures we are improving your child's capacity and athletic potential. All of this data can be provided to you, the parent, so you are on top of the progress.
- Outside of training, we have a on-site Sports Nutritionist who is registered with the International Olympic Committee and holds a Masters Degree in Nutrition. He is on-hand to provide expert-level nutrition advice to all athletes.
- On top of all, we provide a fun, safe and professional environment for your child to train in. Our sessions, whilst meticulously prepared and monitored, offer an environment to build teamwork, athletic performance, and create relationships with other athletes.
